The Duel

So, the strip "How to Talk to Someone Who Is Depressed" is the product of a challenge from my friend Ric, who you've all seen me abuse a million times. We were talking and a sentence got said that struck us both funny (it was a paraphrase from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, for the record.) Soon he had thrown down the gauntlet. He would write a poem around the line (he writes poetry) and I would write a strip around it.

His poem can be read here, on his myspace page. If you like poetry, he has a bunch more available there.

This is not a competition. There is no competitiveness in our friendship, for there are no winners there, only losers.

hmm. well, your strip certainly made me laugh harder. i think it's better than ric's poem, but i'm not sure if that's because it's actually better or because i'm a complete philistine with no appreciation for Art.
