Ka cheesa crispa Greedo?

The inspiration for this strip was a coworker holding the door open for me while standing in such a way as to block 70% of the door with his body. I was forced to turn sideways, much like the Millennium Falcon squeezing through a ravine.  As I slid past him I felt compelled to thank him, and was instantly disgusted with myself.

On the subject of the Millennium Falcon, or at least her captain, I got into an argument with a coworker today. He's twenty years old and told me with great authority that Greedo shot first. I'm sorry, his exact words were "that green guy shot first". I told him that in the special edition he was right, but in the original version of the film not only did Han shoot first, but "that green guy" didn't live to shoot at all.

He shook his head and said no. He assured me that he was right. After all, he "owns the dvd."

I've got to learn to let this kind of thing go.

But then you wouldn't be a nerd. Or is it a geek? I have trouble keeping it straight sometimes. Anyway, I'm only three years older than that sadly mistaken fellow and even I know that Han shot first. Suckers.

Basically, if they call it "star wars," they get it right. If they call it "a new hope," then there's no hope.

I agree - don't let it go! If we do that then the youngsters will think they know best.

We can't have that. ;-) Han would never let that green guy shoot first anyhow. Despite Lucas's's's re-release nonsense. Tsk.

My friend with the laser disk origional version and a laser disk player which she owns exclusively for the purpose of playing the afore mentioned disk, can assure you that you are correct.

I assume you explained that Han isn't so stupid as to let Greedo live long enough to shoot him. Greedo wasn't such a crappy assassin as to shoot Han at nearly point blank range and miss. You also explained that they changed it to make Han look less slimy/less like a murderer?

If that doesn't do it for him then you've done all you can. Unless the two-by-four of knowledge featured on your strip's logo really does work. Then you could try that. Let us know if it works!

Han not only shot first, he is more interesting BECAUSE he shot first. Changing the movie so Greedo shotfirst emasculated Han as a badass space-con-man.
