Why I’m smiling

A week or three ago, I mentioned that I was happy, but could not say why. Here’s why.
Today I finalized the contract to make my second book with Dark Horse. It should come out this time next year.
In a way, I’m more thrilled about this book than the first one. If I only made one book I’d have always felt like it was a fluke. Now that they want a second, it’s at the very least twice the fluke.
This wouldn’t have happened if you all hadn’t been so supportive of the first book. I hope you know I appreciate it.

Thanks a lot for getting it out in time for this holiday season. Now I will have to come up with a different thoughtful gift that will better the lives of those to whom I am socially obligated to give something.

I love the first one and I was dearly hoping for a second volume. But next year? That’s too long to wait! I first saw your comic when I discovered the book. Then I came to this site. Then, I bought another copy of the book to send to a friend of mine. So yes, I might have made Dark Horse sit up and pay attention. :p. Keep up the fantastic work Scott.

YES !!! Loved the first one, bought 2 copies (1 for a friend) based on an article I saw on Newsarama or elsewhere and the strips did the rest , so funny and smart, cant wait for book #2, congratulations on the deal !

I didn’t “support” anyone. I bought the book because it was filled with clever, witty comics that I enjoy reading and sharing with family and friends. How dare you imply that I ascribe to some sort of socialist ideology.
